President’s Message
Dear graduates,
On behalf of the Mogadishu University community, it is a great honour and privilege for me to be part of this convocation, and I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate each one of you sincerely. As the MU community, we are thrilled to graduate you today as you have qualified to be awarded Master’s degree, postgraduate diploma, and bachelor’s degree awards. It is our honour to have you as graduates of Mogadishu University, a prestigious institution with excellent teaching experiences and community services in Somalia.
I appreciate the efforts of your parents, sponsors, and lecturers for guiding and supporting you in your search for knowledge, your career journey, and your dreams for a better future. I know you had to go through virtual classes and virtual exams to complete your programs as we faced the challenging times of COVID-19, but we managed together and overcame these pressing and hard times.
During your study, you have developed lifelong friendships and networks. You have also become a valued member of our vibrant MU family, and today marks the end of a long journey of life accomplishment. It is an excellent day as we celebrate your graduation. This victory of academic achievement is not only the end of one trip but also the beginning of another as you pursue a better life for yourself, your family, and your country.
Dear graduates, I would like to remind you that there are a lot of challenges ahead of you. As MU releases you today to the market, the issue of unemployment for graduates continues to be a big challenge for all stakeholders. However, we are very pleased that you are equipped with relevant skills that make you competent and the best candidates for any offer in your field. We encourage you to grab any opportunity that comes your way. We urge you to be innovative, hardworking, and adventurous, sorting out the problems that you will face and also trying to tackle the challenges your people face. We count on you and expect you to uphold the right image of being good ambassadors with mission and values to positively contribute to rebuilding and developing the country and beyond.
In conclusion, upon award of your degrees, I invite you to continue your university relationship by becoming a member of our growing Alumni community. The alumni can play a role in various aspects beneficial to the students, graduates, the university, and society as a whole. Again, congratulations on completing your program. Be proud of what you have worked to achieve and remember those who have supported you to reach this end.
Congratulations to everybody, and I wish you a successful life and career in the future.
